My paintings use the landscape as expression of spiritual longing, private reverie and memory.

Many of my paintings are inspired by my journeys. When visiting other places I love to walk neighborhoods to see, hear and feel the atmosphere. Back in the studio I try to capture that feeling through paint. In 2015 I spent a month in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at an art residency. The spires on the Buddhist temples & traditional Khmer buildings spoke to me and have found their way into many of my paintings. In 2018 I attended an art residency in the remote village of Marpha, Nepal. The mountain landscape and simplicity of village life inspired several paintings.
